The Motivation Secret

“I’m just not motivated.”

Most of us have uttered those words at some point or another.

It’s great to exercise when we are motivated. It feels good.

But here is the motivation secret that really fit people know:

Don’t rely on motivation.

Yes. It’s sad, but true.

Motivation comes and goes. It’s natural.

If a healthy life is based on whether or not we feel motivated, it’s probably not going to happen.

Real fit moms create habits, one step at a time.

They workout when they don’t feel like it (for the most part).

Being healthy requires a decision, and then action. How you feel about it, is important, but it is not the foundation.

Don’t forget to find your why. It will keep you going when the motivation wanes.

Coming soon: How to workout when you don’t feel like it!

How heavily do you rely on motivation? What do you do when your motivation is running low?

I have totally relied on motivation in the past. Still do to some extent, but I’m learning that I need to just focus on one day at a time goals, and stick to it. Having an accountability partner really helps get through those times when I just don’t feel like it.

When motivation is really low, I make my daily health goals the night before, and then make a pact to stick to it no matter how lazy I feel the next morning. That usually helps pull me through the slumps of no motivation.
