Welcome back to the How do you stay fit series, today we’d like to introduce you to Katie, a fitness blogger, personal trainer, and busy mom of two.
You can find Katie at FitMiss.org.
Tell us a little about yourself and your lifestyle
I have 2 sons, ages 16 months and 3.5.
I work part time at a church, and part time as a personal trainer.
How do you “find” (or create) the time for exercise?
I discovered that it works best for me to workout before the kids wake up. I started meeting a friend at the gym at 6am. Then I discovered bootcamps and started going to those at 5am. I liked that I had time after my workout to shower and start getting ready before my kids woke up. So I guess I create time by loosing sleep. ๐
What time of day do you prefer to workout (morning/afternoon/evening)?
Early morning.
What is your favorite workout?
I have always enjoyed running. And when i am needing to loose weight(like after pregnancy) I do weights and high intensity intervals. This next year I am working in Pilates and barre workouts on the days I don’t run.

Do you have any health or fitness achievements to share?
I lost the last 20 pounds of baby weight last year. I also challenged myself to become a personal trainer in my “spare time.”
What are your current fitness goals?
I am trying to achieve a personal record 5k this year. I’m doing 5 races this next year and participating in training groups to prepare.
Favorite healthy (family) meal?
Chicken lettuce wraps and brown coconut rice.
Do you pamper/reward yourself for achieving a health and fitness milestone? If so, how?
I usually buy new workout clothes before a race or milestone, it makes me run faster ๐
If you could tell moms who want to get fit one thing, what would it be?
Yes, your body will come back.
You are worth spending time doing something for yourself.
Do you have a blog or website?
Thanks Katie!
I enjoyed reading about how Katie stays fit and healthy and just love that she became a personal trainer in her spare time.
Wow Katie way to go girl.
I love how you incorporate such a variety of workouts into your training. Get. It. Girl.
