Emma’s Current Workout – Chalean Extreme

Over the years I have tried many different workouts on DVD but at this point in time, I have to say nothing I have done compares to Chalean Extreme. The classes are planned, Chalene has done all the thinking for you. All you have to do is follow the schedule. Love that!

Chalean Extreme is a 90-day body sculpting program to get you into shape. Its primarily a resistance based workout that has you lifting heavy with concentrated reps (no more than 12) to help you build lean muscle and boost your metabolism as Chalene herself will tell you – muscle burns fat, baby!

Chalene has also included some intense cardio intervals and core work, so all bases are covered.

Let me tell you she is not joking around. I started this workout 10 weeks after having my first baby and now I have to say I am in the best shape of my life, something I never thought I would be saying post baby that’s for sure.

One of the appealing aspects of this programme was that the workouts are intense which means they are shorter than most others. I don’t know about you but as a mother of one seriously active little girl, time is not something I have a lot of. The longest workout is 46mins!

There are 3 phases:

First is the Burn phase which is designed to jump start your metabolism.

Next comes the Push phase which is where you build lean muscle and burn the fat.

Finally, there is the Lean phase where you are introduced to some new moves that will literally melt away the fat.
