Workout Wednesday 26-09-12

So this week I want to talk about push ups . . . I love them!

Yes really.

Good old push ups work your entire body – shoulders, arms, back, core, glutes and legs. You name it push ups work it!

Love that!

Not only do push ups work your entire body but they do it with no equipment required, just you baby. Nothing more, nothing less.

So on top of this weeks exercise challenge lets do a few good old push ups, just because we can.

So here’s what we are going to do –

1 – Get down on the floor into a nice strong plank position.  On your knees if your just starting out and toes if your a little more experienced. Although I would suggest trying on your toes, you never know you might just pull it of

2 –  Hands on the floor slightly wider than shoulder width apart.

3 – Abs braced, imagine your trying to draw your belly button up against your spine.

4 – With your spine long, neck extended, shoulders down away from your ears take a nice deep breath in and slowly bend your elbows down to a 90′ angle try to keep your body in a nice straight line.

5 – Breathing out, slowly and carefully straighten your arms back up to the starting position and repeat.
