How was your weekend?

I had a wonderful weekend attending one of the most beautiful weddings I have been to in a very long time. There is something about weddings really makes me take time to reflect on and really appreciate the blessings I have.

A wonderful loving (and seriously entertaining) family, a cozy little apartment, good health and more than enough food.

I do love food, everything about it. I could look at recipes for hours! I also adore grocery shopping. Really, I. LOVE. IT! People think I’m crazy . . . Oh and FYI since making our weekly menu plans we have saved around $50 a week on groceries!

Just another reason I love my little menu plan :)

Moving onto this weeks menu plan because I could talk about my love for food all day long! If you would like to follow along with my love of cooking and adventures in the kitchen I would to share my other little blogging project with you – Better with Cake.

Here is my menu plan for this week -

Menu Plan Monday - 

Monday -

Dinner – Grilled chicken with marinara sauce served with carrots and green beans

Tuesday -

Dinner – This recipe at Better with Cake adapted from The Pioneer woman - Simple Sesame Noodles

Wednesday -

Dinner –  Curry spiced chickpea “burgers” with spinach, avocado and tomato

Thursday -

Dinner – This recipe from Better with Cake (adapted from the Pioneer Woman) – Chipotle Steak Salad

Friday -

Dinner – Kangaroo Sausage with baked sweet potato and green beans

Saturday -

Dinner - From Better with CakeTeriyaki Salmon and salad

Sunday -

Dinner –  From Pink Parsley - Chipotle Portobello Burgers

Work Out Wednesday

 

This week I bring you an upper body blast!

There may have been a disagreement between me and my left hamstring . . . we are currently not on speaking terms . . . no biggie, we just need to take some time away from each other is all. I may or may not have (unintentionally) overworked it slightly. It let me know it wasn’t happy . . . silently, unleashing a great deal of pain as my punishment. I respectfully decided to give it a little vacation aka time to rest and recover.

This upper body blast will let your legs take a much needed break while still providing a killer workout. Well, I think so anyway.

Remember always start with at least a 5 min warm up, breathe, breathe, breathe and finish with a delicious 5 – 10 min cool down and stretch.

Perform each exercise once moving on to the next with as little rest as possible until you get to your one minute rest. After your well earned rest, repeat the circuit twice more (for a total of 3 times)

How was your weekend?

I had a nice weekend with my adorable little family and was seriously spoilt at my fancy mothers day dinner out at our favourite restaurant.
